Dave Paterson is a singer songwriter from Leeds who combines influences of Rock, Jazz and Blues in his music. Dave got into music back in 2000 as a teenager. He started playing drums and then moved on to playing guitar. Right up to 2008 Dave wrote a lot of songs while playing with a couple of bands. Dave then started playing solo, doing a lot of buskering, a lot of performances, out on the streets with a very successful percussive style. Unfortunately, in 2008 Dave got competitive strain injury which has since hindered him performing live. But in the meantime, he’s spent his time writing a couple albums worth of songs. Resulting in Dave recently recording and releasing his first single titled “Calling About”. The new pop single “Calling About” got picked up by BBC Radio Leeds Pub Call. On hearing the song Gayle Lofthouse, the BBC Radio Leeds presenter, stated: “Love it from the moment I heard it … the incredible Dave Paterson. I absolutely loved it.” Michael Walker was involved in the recording of the single. Michael may also be performing with Dave at the 30th April 2026 gig at Acoustic Nights @ The Barn. Dave will sing solo on the night with a mix of an acoustic musical backing band. Don’t be surprised if a saxophone or flute also makes an appearance! Dave Paterson is aiming to release further recorded material over the next year. He has recently played live at the popular Chapel Allerton Arts Festival and the Avondale Club in Shipley and is a frequent performer at the Music & Words in Woodhouse. He is looking forward to playing his live acoustic repertoire at The Barn Coffee Shop in Meanwood in April.
